The Beaufort Lagoon Ecosystems Long-Term Ecological Research Program (BLE LTER), in concert with the University of Texas Marine Science Institute (UTMSI), seeks to hire two full-time Core Program Managers (Research Scientist Associate IV) beginning May 2018. The Program Managers will work together with the BLE LTER Directors, program staff, scientists, and students to coordinate and carry out research at BLE LTER field sites along the Alaskan Beaufort Sea coast. The Program Managers will manage sample inventories and analyses at UTMSI, participate in data analysis and development of publications, communicate findings to the general public via various media, and assist with compilation of annual reports for the National Science Foundation. They will be responsible for the acquisition, operation, and maintenance of field and laboratory instrumentation, all aspects of field logistics, coordination of PI directed field studies, and management of the BLE LTER’s outreach activities with native North Slope communities. The Program Managers will liaise with other research initiatives and community partners, organize events and meetings, track key program metrics, and handle day-to-day administrative operations.
