While we have tried to make sure that there will be enough rental cars available during our meeting, they are in limited supply in St. John's.

The province is serviced by all of the national car rental agencies and RV rentals are available through Islander RV Sales & Rentals 709-364-7368.

Newfoundland and Labrador has a well-maintained highway system and a charter motor coach service is available to centers throughout the island and Labrador region of the province. 

A daily bus operated by DRL (http://www.drlgroup.com) between Port aux Basque and St. John's is also available departing at 8 am.  In St. John's, there are bus charters available. 

For getting around St. John's, try the city's Metrobus service (709-722-9400). The City of St. John's has a bus system operated by the St. John's Transit Authority http://www.metrobus.com. 

Traffic Regulations

The use of seat belts is mandatory in Newfoundland & Labrador for drivers and all passengers.  A child weighing less than 9 kg must be secured in either an infant carrier or a convertible car seat adjusted to the rear-facing position. Radar detectors are illegal.  It is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol limit exceeding .05 milligrams of alcohol per liter of blood.  The use of hand held cell phones by the driver of a vehicle, when driving, is prohibited.
