DISCCRS Symposium APPLICATION DEADLINE

The DISCCRS Symposium catalyzes interdisciplinary understanding
and peer networking among recent PhDs across the full range of
disciplines relevant to the understanding of climate change and its
impacts. During the weeklong event:
* Participants will present their research to an
international, interdisciplinary audience of peers
* Working Groups will discuss emerging research,
professional and societal issues
* Leadership consultants will provide training in
communication skills
* A nucleus of established research scientists will share
perspectives on interdisciplinary career development
* Funding-agency representatives will describe programs
The first symposium in what we hope will be a biennial series will occur:
March 10-15, 2003
Copamarina Resort, Puerto Rico.
APPLICATION DEADLINE is
October 6, 2002
ELIGIBILITY WINDOW: Graduates completing their last PhD between
January 1, 2000 - September 30, 2002 in any field related to climate change
and its impacts. Individuals from all nations are eligible. Forty participants
will be selected by committee based on the application materials submitted.
Airfare and on-site expenses will be covered by the supporting agencies
(NASA and NSF).
