ASLO is returning to Santa Fe! The 2016 Summer Meeting will be held 5-10 June at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. Designated a UNESCO Creative City in 2005, the city continues to be a top city in many categories. A rich history has left its unique mark on Santa Fe’s day-to-day lifestyle. From the arts, to cuisine, to architecture, Santa Fe is a wonderful location. The ASLO 2016 Summer Meeting will bring together both freshwater and salt water scientists, educators, policy makers and students to meet and learn from each other about the many issues that face aquatic scientists today.
Major thematic topics in limnology and oceanography will be covered by the regular sessions. These regular session themes will include topics such as: biogeochemistry, biodiversity, invasive species, multiple stressors etc. Competitive proposals for special sessions will include topics that are conceptually focused and for which at least 6 potential speakers have been identified. Topics that include contributions from different aquatic habitat types as well as interdisciplinary perspectives are encouraged.
We invite you to submit your special session proposals for the ASLO 2016 Summer Meeting by midnight, U.S. Central Time / 05:00 Greenwich Mean Time, 15 September 2015.
Please keep in mind that chairs of successful sessions must coordinate evaluation of student presentations for their session (both oral and poster). Session chairs who attend must register for the meeting and must be able to fund their own registration, travel, and accommodation. Proposals will be reviewed by meeting co-chairs and the scientific committee, and proposers will be notified of the decisions as soon as possible.
