Talks will be scheduled in 15-minute time slots. We strongly encourage a presentation of no more than 12 minutes to allow for at least three minutes of follow-on discussion and to entertain questions from those in the audience. In special cases, and at the discretion of the session organizers, invited presenters may be given two consecutive slots to provide a tutorial talk. The time limit must be strictly enforced to facilitate movement between sessions.
Computer projection equipment for electronic presentations will be available in each oral session meeting room. Presentation rooms will be equipped with the following:
Acceptable Formats for Presentations
Supported file formats include PowerPoint (PPT or PPTX), Word (DOC, DOCX), Excel (XLS, XLSX), Microsoft Office 2007 or previous version, PDF, OpenOffice 2.4.
All Western European characters will be supported.
To minimize any compatibility problems, please assure that your presentation design does not exceed 1,5 gigabytes.
WMV, AVI, and MPG formats should be used. We recommend saving the external files of your presentation in the same folder as your presentation. QuickTime (.MOV) files should not be used. For pictures, common Windows formats are supported (BMP, JPG, JPEG), but TIFF (MACINTOSH format) is not supported. Optimal performance of presentations created in other formats cannot be guaranteed.
A speaker ready room or preparation room for you to practice your presentation or to review it prior to uploading will be available in Gallieni 4 the Acropolis. It will be open Sunday from 1300 to 2100 and Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1800. The equipment in the speaker ready room will be exactly the same as in the actual presentation room to give the speakers a chance to use and become comfortable with the presentation software and equipment.
Rental of a VCR, monitor, slide projector, audio systems, provision of extra power outlets, extra tables, stands, etc. can be handled for an additional cost. Costs for additional equipment will be billed to the presenting author. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for other presentation equipment requests.
