Statement of Interest

--Academic Interests Sharks, skates, and rays: biology, reproduction, feeding/predation, conservation & ecology, education --Professsional Interests same as above --Goals Open a marine ecology center geared to conservation and education, mentor minority youth in marine/environmental science, volunteer in public schools to introduce my interests to school aged children --Activities Member of 2004 cohort of MSPHDS, elected VP of Marine Undergrad Society, science classroom aid/resource for middle school at Alt. Middle School (Paterson, NJ) --Coursework Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Ecology&Evolution, Physical/Chemical Oceanography, Geology, Biology of Marine Organisms, Marine Processes, Biology-Field Experience in Marine Science --Lab and Field Experiences Project Oceanica-Transects @ College of Charleston, various lab work @ University of South Carolina, science fair judge and demonstrator at grammar schools in SC
