Limnology and Oceanography: Fluids and Environments
Limnology and Oceanography: Fluids and Environments (L&O:F&E) publishes interdisciplinary limnology and oceanography research focusing on the interactions of fluid dynamics and biological, chemical, and geological processes in aquatic environments. The journal will focus on transport phenomena and their environmental implications, from large-scale currents to organism-induced motions and molecular-level transfers. L&O:F&E will publish a variety of approaches, including modeling, theory, and empiricism and will be featured in an online-only format. The journal will be published by Duke University Press, beginning in late 2010.
L&O:F&E seeks manuscripts treating research on any aspect of limnology and oceanography where advection and/or diffusion or the mechanics of the medium drive biological, chemical, or geological processes from molecular to global scales. For more information please download the call for papers.
Submit manuscripts electronically at www.editorialmanager.com/lofe. Please see the Instructions to Authors for further details on the submission requirements and instructions for preparing the manuscript.
All members of the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography will have free online access to the journal. Libraries will have the option to purchase a subscription. Some articles will be open-access. Because the journal will be available in an online-only format, there will be no issues. Rather, articles will be uploaded and available on a rolling basis throughout the year, where one year is equivalent to one journal volume.
