As we get into another tween season, APECS is gearing up for more great activities!

We just finished another successful APECS workshop at the Arctic Science Summit Week 2013 in Krakow, Poland.  We had a high participation for our 1-day career development workshop that helped young researchers learn important skills, create new collaborations and contacts with both early career colleagues and senior mentors.  Additionally, we had an APECS Council meeting where our Council members got a chance to meet and discuss potential activities.  To find out more go to the APECS Meetings and Events page - http://www.apecs.is/...vents/assw-2013

We are now preparing for the Antarctic Treaty meeting on May 2013, in Ghent Belgium where our APECS Belgium group will be organizing the logistics of the event. This meeting will include providing a series of experiments and learning aids to introduce Antarctic science and challenges to families, students and teachers. We would like to thank APECS Belgium for all the great work your doing to promote information in this exciting area, and APECS activities.  For more information go to: http://www.apecs.is/...news&Itemid=169

APECS keeps growing and organizing more in-person events. Check our calendar - http://apecs.is/apec...etings-a-events to find out about upcoming APECS events and use these great opportunities to meet new friends and colleagues!  If you are attending a meeting or conference and see that APECS is not yet a participant, please contact us and see what you can do to lead an APECS activity.

As always, if you have any questions or ideas that you want to share with us, contact us at excom@apecs.is

Best Regards,

Penelope Wagner

APECS President 2012-2013
