This workshop is organized in a joint effort of PYRN (Permafrost Young Researchers Network), APECS (Association of Polar Early Career Scientists ) and the young researcher representatives of the two projects PAGE21 (Changing Permafrost in the Arctic and its Global Effects in the 21st Century) and ADAPT (Arctic Development and Adaptation to Permafrost in Transition) and will involve approximately 75 participants all of them early career scientists.
A peer-reviewed application process for stipends distribution among candidates will be conducted by the workshop organizers.
A special focus will be given for applicants from International Permafrost Association (IPA) member countries as well as to the members of PYRN, APECS, PAGE21 and ADAPT. As natural sciences are the main discipline for the majority of current permafrost scientists, applicants with a background outside of physical/natural science, such as engineering, economics, humanities, and politics are particularly encouraged to apply.
