June 24th: APECS Webinar dedicated to research on Polar Foodwebs
Marine ecosystem and foodweb stuctures are among the most studied systems on Earth. Despite that, its complexity and variety of structure bring always new questions an
d chalenges. Polar regions have the advantage of being relatively constant environments with relatively shorter foodwebs. In a scenario of climate changes, those are the best regions to study the effects of environmental shifts in prey vs consumers availability and seasonality. New ecosystem modelling approaches and biochemical tools have been used recently to identify key-species and shifts in foodwebs main paths.
