PhD Dissertation Abstract Registration Form

PhD recipients whose work pertains to aquatic or climate-change/impactsresearch and who completed degrees after January 1, 2000 are encouraged to submit their dissertation abstract using the interactive form below. Dissertations will be posted on line in a fully searchable format. Aquatic scientists engaged in climate change research should mark the box at the top of the Abstract Registration Form to be included in both the DISCCRS and DIALOG Dissertation Registries. Once registered, participants are added to the weekly DIALOG/DISCCRS electronic news list. Job and other announcements of interest to recent graduates are posted weekly. Everyone is encouraged to submit job and other announcements to dialog@whitman.edu or disccrs@whitman.edu.

SYMPOSIUM APPLICATIONS: To apply for the DIALOG or DISCCRS symposia, please read and follow the Symposium Application Instructions. Register your dissertation first. Once registered, you will be placed on a list to receive symposium updates.

DISSERTATION ABSTRACT
Please read and follow these instructions!
Provide a 1-page abstract of your Ph.D. dissertation. All abstracts must be in English. When printed, the complete abstract must fit within a 6.5" x 9" area (16.5 cm x 22.9 cm) -- this works out to 1" margins using 8.5" x ll" paper, using Times/Roman font, 12 point or equivalent. Paragraphs should be single spaced. Leave a blank line between paragraphs. Do not indent the first line. AVOID using special characters (e.g., use micro-m instead of µm; 10^4 for 10 to the fourth power; 10^-4 for 10 to the minus four power; H2O or water for H2O.) Web and e-mail addresses: If you have material on a website, you are encouraged to include a sentence at the bottom of the page, saying something like: "More information is available at http://your.address.com/." You may also include your e-mail address, but are advised to do so only if you expect the address to remain active for at least 1 year. Please check all data before submitting your form!
