Graduate Student Opportunities - Coastal Meteorology

Graduate Studies (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Coastal Meteorology-Oceanography at UConn, Avery
Point

An opportunity for graduate study (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Oceanography is available at
the University of Connecticut in the research group of Dr. Kelly Lombardo,
Ph.D. in the Department of Marine Sciences. The
group’s goal is to understand the processes controlling the weather (i.e. severe
squall lines, coastal cyclones) in a coastal environment, as well as the
dynamic relationship between the ocean and atmosphere; thesis or dissertation
research may involve high-resolution numerical modeling, fieldwork to obtain
observations of the structure of the atmosphere, especially within the boundary
layer.

A full Teaching/Graduate Assistantship will be provided with full
tuition waiver and subsidized health insurance. Applicants must meet UConn and
Marine Sciences criteria for admission (see: http://www.marinesciences.uconn.edu/apply.html).

Please email your C.V. to Dr. Kelly Lombardo (kelly.lombardo@uconn.edu) and submit
your graduate application to UConn
(http://grad.uconn.edu/prospective/online.html). For more information, see: http://www.marinesciences.uconn.edu &
