Ph. D. position, marine ecology/biogeochemistry
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for PhD studies in marine ecology
with emphasis on carbon and nitrogen fluxes associated with large aquatic cyanobacteria.
The PhD project aims at direct quantification of C and N- fluxes associated with large aquatic Cyanobacteria. Eco-physiological studies of carbon and N2-fixation, and NH4+ production by cyanobacteria are to be conducted, primarily in the Baltic Sea, but also in other geographical areas and in cultures. The project is based on experimental approaches involving several techniques (e.g., microsensors, stable isotopes, and fluorometry) and field studies.
