M.S. or Ph.D. Assistantship, Phytoplankton Stoichiometry/Reservoir Biogeochemistry
The Scott Biogeochemistry Lab at the University of Arkansas invites applicants for either an M.S. or Ph.D. Graduate Assistantship to study the effects of global change (increasing atmospheric CO2 and elevated nutrient inputs) on phytoplankton stoichiometry and the biogeochemistry of reservoir ecosystems. The incumbent could pursue an M.S. or Ph.D. in Environmental Science through the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences (http://cses.uark.edu/) or a Ph.D. in the interdisciplinary Environmental Dynamics graduate program (http://endy.uark.edu/). The research will include both laboratory and field experimentation including the possibility for whole-ecosystem manipulations. Interested students should send an email to Dr. Thad Scott (jts004@uark.edu) with "Graduate Assistantship" in the title, and include their CV (including GPA’s and GRE scores, if available), statement of research interests, and contact information for two references by December 19, 2012. Qualified applicants will be invited to apply to the Graduate School and Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences or in the interdisciplinary Environmental Dynamics graduate program, based on their own interest.
