Program Manager - Climate Change Education











The University of Maryland Center for
Environmental Science invites applications for a Project Manager (PM) for the Maryland-Delaware
Climate Change Education, Assessment and Research (MADE CLEAR) program (www.madeclear.org).  MADE
CLEAR is a NSF Climate Change Educational Partnership between the University
System of Maryland, University of Delaware and the state departments of
education in Maryland and Delaware to embed climate change into formal and
informal education. The PM works with the lead institutions to implement a
five-year plan to address climate change education regionally, providing intellectual
leadership, coordination, fiscal and administrative management, and partnership
development. Ability to work as a team leader and active team member in
academic or agency situations is critical. 
The office for this position will be located in Annapolis, MD.   



Typical areas of responsibility for this
position will include:



•     Lead and coordinate the implementation of the
MADE CLEAR Strategic Plan to including the development of milestones and work plans
and management of project budget;



•     Plan, manage, and facilitate meetings with
workgroups, Executive Council, and Advisory Committee;



•     Secure, coordinate, and submit project reports
to the funding agency (National Science Foundation);



•     Develop outreach materials for print, web, and
presentations;



•     Coordinate activities of workgroups from
numerous institutions and agencies spanning both MD and DE;



•     Provide access to project activities and
materials for project’s embedded evaluation team; and



•     Represent MADE CLEAR through presentations and
participation at local, regional, and national meetings.



Candidates should have a college or
advanced degree with at least five years of professional experience in project
management, specifically related to climate change and/or science education.  Excellent written and oral communication
skills are required.
