The researcher will focus on a project combining flow cytometry and elemental analysis as a toolset to enhance our understanding of taxon-specific biogeochemistry in the marine environment. The researcher will join an active research group that combines traditional sea-going biogeochemistry activities with current methods in molecular biology to study and understand the role of phytoplankton taxonomic diversity and physiological plasticity in regulating global carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus biogeochemical cycles.
Minimum qualifications for this position are:
1) Ph.D. in Biological/Chemical Oceanography, marine biogeochemistry or a related field.
2) Knowledge and understanding of marine carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus, biogeochemical cycles.
