San Francisco State University invites applications for Director of the Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies (RTC: http://www.rtc.sfsu.edu).
The only marine science facility on San Francisco Bay, RTC is a center
of excellence for research and training in estuarine and marine science,
restoration ecology, and effects of climate change. RTC has experienced
exciting recent growth in support from the university and the private
sector. We seek an energetic and visionary leader with a passion for
research and education and a background in marine or estuarine science
to accelerate the development of RTC’s strong potential for further
growth and prominence.
Applicants must possess an advanced degree in marine or estuarine
science, and extensive experience in research and teaching; success in
administration and management of a university field station, department,
or large, multi-disciplinary research program; excellent leadership and
communication skills; and success in program development and in
securing private-sector and government funding.
