Assistant/Associate/Full Research Professor in Aquaculture Nutrition
FAU's Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, located in Fort Pierce Florida, seeks candidates for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Research Professor with expertise in aquatic animal nutrition that is applicable to species in aquaculture and natural systems. The primary focus of this position is research, but there is opportunity for teaching and directing graduate students and postdoctoral investigators.
Preferred candidates should be established and have demonstrated excellence in aquaculture nutrition research. Candidates with experience in; 1) the application of 'Omics' (e.g., proteomics, metabolomics, and transcriptomics) in aquaculture nutrition research related to stress, health and reproduction, and/or 2) technology for fish meal and fish oil replacement in aquaculture feeds, are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should have strong academic and research connections and be poised to take advantage of opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations at FAU-HBOI, especially related to marine and coastal issues.
Candidates should be willing to work with a team of other scientists and engineers in a university culture that fosters innovation and collaboration within our institute, with colleagues at FAU, and with local, national, and international partners. Candidates are expected to develop a new understanding and strategies, technologies, or products that will lead to stewardship and wise use of the oceans. The successful candidate must be established in his or her field and possess (1) an earned doctorate in an area applicable to aquaculture/mariculture, and fish nutrition (2) a strong publication record, (3) a well-funded, active research program, commensurate with their level of experience, (4) skills in leadership and mentoring, and (5) the ability to work cooperatively with University and extramural partners on research that addresses contemporary and emerging issues in ocean science or ecology. This position includes a generous start up package and new lab and office space. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Prior to appointment, the candidate must submit official, sealed transcripts from all institutions where graduate coursework was attempted, whether or not a degree was obtained, as well as an original NACES evaluation, if applicable. Transcripts must be issued to Florida Atlantic University not to you as the student.
