Postdoctoral Researcher Ocean Color Remote Sensing

Postdoctoral Research Associate Position

Applications are being accepted for a Research Associate (Postdoctoral) position at Oregon State University working with Dr. Toby Westberry and Dr. Michael Behrenfeld. The primary goal of the NASA-funded research is to advance primary production modeling from space through inclusion of realistic phytoplankton physiology. This may include, but is not limited to: use of satellite chlorophyll fluorescence, characterization of photoacclimation, and incorporation of size/functional group information. Areas of specialization include biological oceanography, bio-optics, phytoplankton physiology, and ocean color remote sensing. Strong quantitative skills and programming ability necessary to work with large datasets are sought. In particular, experience working with satellite remote sensing data is desirable. This is a full time, 12-month position, with an initial funded period of 2 years. Candidate must have Ph.D. degree in biological oceanography or a related discipline by the start date.

For further information, go to http://oregonstate.edu/jobs and apply to posting 0012594. Applications must be received by 07/31/14. OSU is an AA/EOE. Questions regarding this position can be addressed to Dr. Toby Westberry at toby.westberry@science.oregonstate.edu, but applications must be submitted through http://oregonstate.edu/jobs.
