Post-Doctoral Position in Watershed Modeling

Motivated post-doctoral scholar is sought for a research
position at the University of Michigan to conduct watershed modeling studies to
better understand how nutrient loading goals can be met in Lake Erie
watersheds. This position will be in the
new Water Center and the scholar will be actively working with a team of senior
Great Lakes scientists and other modelers. The postdoc will have ample opportunities to
conduct interdisciplinary research and opportunities to define their research
direction, provided it is synergistic with the research team. Applications will be accepted immediately and
the position will remain open until filled.
Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in environmental
science or engineering or a related field with an interest in using models to
support policy. Applicants should have
good quantitative skills and be able to work in a dynamic interdisciplinary
team. Experience using the Soil and
Water Assessment Tool is required and additional modeling experience is
preferred. Experience in a secondary
fields, such as policy, economics, or social sciences, is also a plus.
The appointment is for 1 year with possibility of renewal
for subsequent years based on performance. Candidates must have received their
Ph.D. within past 5 years.
