Postdoctoral Research Position in Trace Metal Geochemistry

The Institute for Great Lakes Research at Central Michigan University (CMU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research position in the group of Dr. Anthony Chappaz (GEM Lab website: http://people.cst.cmich.edu/chapp1a/GEM_Lab_Website/GEM_La

The highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate will primarily assist on a collaborative project with the University of California – Riverside and the Arizona State University that is funded by the National Science Foundation. This research seeks to improve our understanding of the geochemistry of paleo-redox proxies (e.g. Molybdenum). The successful candidate will be based at CMU. This Postdoctoral Research position is awarded for a minimum of one-year period and may be renewed up to a maximum of two years.

Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a recent PhD in geosciences, environmental sciences, chemistry or related disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trace metal geochemistry and familiarity with ICP–MS is highly desirable. Additionally experience with analytical methods in isotopic geochemistry (MC-ICP-MS), trace metal speciation (HPLC-ICP-
MS), LA-ICP-MS or XAFS techniques would be advantageous.
