Assistant Professor, Molecular Ecotoxicology
POSITION: Assistant Professor, Molecular Ecotoxicology
DESCRIPTION: The Department of Environmental, Earth and Ocean Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor who specializes in molecular ecotoxicology focused on coastal marine systems starting in September 2010. Applicants should be well versed in the transdisciplinary research integrating molecular and ecological approaches. Applications will be particularly welcome from candidates who have expertise in coastal ecosystems, who target environmental impacts at the population, community or ecosystem level of biological organization, and whose research addresses current issues such as the impact of climate change on coastal ecosystems, ocean-human health interactions, or other relevant areas that contribute to the mission of the department.
REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant is expected to establish an externally funded research program, direct the research of students at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels, and interact with a dynamic group of faculty across the environmental disciplines. Excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is expected. A Ph.D. and postdoctoral training (or equivalent professional experience) are required.
