Nutrient Lab LIMS Coordinator
COORDINATOR, RESEARCH PROGRAM/LABORATORY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR, SOUTHEAST ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH CENTER
The Southeast Environmental Research Center at Florida International University has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, knowledgeable person who has good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as strong analytical skills.
The Coordinator of Research Program/LIMS Administrator for the Nutrient Analysis Lab of the Southeast Environmental Research Center will be responsible for act as lead manager for the LabWorks LIMS. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Implementing solutions for managing and optimizing large scale storage of scientific data in industrial and relational databases
• Configuring and customizing LIMS, be responsible for quality assurance of data uploads and the integrity and accuracy of stored data
• Consulting with Database Manager and QA/QC Officer to define research processes and computational models of laboratory operations and translate them into workflows and software solutions
Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience.
Desired qualifications: Master’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field and one year experience in developing LIMS and custom applications for storage of scientific information, or BS and two years experience in same preferred. An expertise in automation of data processing using scripting languages and design of workflows and user interfaces is also preferred.
