Technical Program Specialist- Mid-Level
SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT West Palm Beach, FL The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is a regional agency of the state of Florida, and is charged with managing and protecting water resources of the region by balancing and improving water quality, flood control, natural systems and water supply. SFWMD's boundaries extend from central Florida to Lake Okeechobee, and from coast to coast, from Fort Myers to Fort Pierce, south through the sprawling Everglades to the Florida Keys and Florida Bay. South Florida Water Management District is seeking a mid-level engineer or scientist responsible for supporting projects of the Implementation Division. This will include management of a number of alternative water supply projects, support to water supply feasibility studies, support to ASR projects, maintenance of the utility reuse database, and preparation of the annual reuse report and maps. Specific duties will include contract management, technical and coordination support to various feasibility studies, permitting, contract management, and coordination support for the ASR and similar projects, and assistance to the reuse coordinator. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate in written and oral manner, to District staff and to other agencies and the public. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geology, or other related applied physical science and at least three (3) years of qualifying experience in water resource engineering or water resource management.
