| DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES AND BACKGROUND |

Field experience:
Completed 4 research cruises, 1 as a watch leader.
Have experience in field sampling such as nutrient sampling, dissolved oxygen titration sampling, Van Veen grab sampling, and box core subsampling. Maintaining cruise operations log and sampling log.
Lab experience:
Sediment grain size analysis using pipette settling tubes. Sedigraph grain size analysis. Oxygen titration. 210Pb sediment accumulation rate analysis.
Recent projects:
Course in advanced oceanographic fieldwork: Involved designing and execution of shipboard field projects. Also involved watch standing and monitoring of shipboard equipment, log recording, and coordination of 12 separate shipboard projects. Post cruise work included data analysis, final paper, and public oral presentation of findings. Final paper was titled, Mysterious mounds of southern Hood Canal: dumpsite, landslide deposites, or glacial debris. |
